Mr. Bear.

Here's some more pics of mr. bear

Good Day on the Margaree

Well yesterday saw me travelling to the Margaree River with my wife and twin girls for a day trip. I got a chance to wet my feet (literally) forgot my waders. I was casting to 20-25 lb Atlantic Salmon, probably 10-15 in a clear pool, while my wife strolled the girls around the fish hatchery.

I had one salmon take a swirl at the bomber, roiled the surface under the fly but never nosed it. Still, some action is better than none.

Here's a picture of me with a stuffed bear in the Salmon Interpretation Centre! Very nice job! Note the Atlantic Salmon in his paws. Don't we look alike? LOL!

Good Night

Well I had a pretty good afternoon.

Got some writing done, worked on my course, finished the Thunder and Lightning fly!!

Also got 10 Spey's tied up for that swap that I'm participating in. Got the ambition, finally!!!!

So all in all it was a good day.

Hope you like the fly.

Some time to tie and write

Well today my wife is at her Grandmothers with our girls, I have the place to myself and I'm in the middle of tying a Classic Thunder & Lightning. Working on the wings now. Shaping up pretty nicely so far. If things go well I'll post this one on the website.

I'm also finishing up an article on fly fishing for my first lesson for the course I'm taking from the North American School of Outdoor Writing. I'll be putting the finishing touches on that and completing the quiz and first lesson hopefully today.

I'm also dragging my butt on another tying project, I need to do 12 Speys for a Salmon Fly Swap due on Sept. 15th. I'm also doing a Classic Green Highlander for a fundraiser for the NSSA. Everything needs to be complete before the 15th and in the mail. Hopefully I'll get motivated over the next few days to finish that project up.

Well, must get back to work!!

Keep Tying!

Another Day at the Office

Well, today I came in at 8am and got settled pretty well. 11:00AM came and little did I realize what was supposed to be a 2 hour meeting turned into a 5 hour special project meeting with a close of business deadline. I'm exhausted. Don't know if I'll be tying many flies tonite.

On the bright side of things, I was contacted by the Town Rec. Department and was asked to teach a night class on Fly Tying this fall. Going to look into that a little further.
